In every season we are satisfied
For just one reason: Christ was crucified!
In every season. Not just the ones that we like, or the seasons that we think are good. Every season. Even the seasons (or days) when all we can do in our limited minds is question. Question why, ask for help, cry out for grace...even in those times we can be satisfied because we have a Savior. A perfect Savior who has rescued us from death and brought us into His kingdom. We have a Father who will not spare any good thing from His children and who has promised to never leave us or forsake us. We have a Father who loves us and has adopted us as sons and daughters, and who will provide all we need. This same God who created the universe knows the end of the story. He knows how my story will end. He knows how all stories will end. And the little commas, interjections, and twists along the way are all familiar to Him. He put them there.
So maybe instead of questioning, I should try trusting my Father's heart. Trusting His character. Trusting that He will provide grace and help in my time of need...which is right now. Trusting and placing my hope in the promise of a Day when all tears will be wiped away and there will be joy forevermore because I will be in the presence of my Father. How wonderful is that!
And Your mercies they will never end
For ten thousand years they remain.
And when this world's beauty has passed away
Your mercies will be unchanged.
And when the storms swirl and rage
There are mercies anew
In affliction and pain
You will carry me through.
And at the end of my days
When Your throne fills my view
I will sing of Your mercies anew.
